We got back into India and head north…

We did Tea in darjeeling darling

and then we head up north into the little border state of Sikkim

where things are abit different...but hey i'm open for business

its fa up the mountains where the local moonshine is Chang...millet

Chrissy loved it

but I wasn't convinced

but dude...that surely is not right

We went on and on into the mist

and went to hot springs down and down and down the mountain we went…

but at the end there was only a little puddle…

still it was gorgous and things were about to get even better!

after the saga at the airport we got to naam…

we went to see some tribal communities

We did some relaxin

We did the Honeymoon free champers thing

the tribal Black mung and modern Vietnam blend in Sapa up in the hills

We went to Halong bay on a lush house boat

I spent my birthday in the mist with my family all around me, what a great time!

We then headed back to Thailand where the taxis don't allow all manner of things! no goats, no sex...where is the world to

So seriously… Vietnam was a great time with the family and the entire time including wonderful Thailand was a great break from India…

so where next? Back to India, Kolkata and the wonderful Himalayan mountains! see here next!

another night train in India...this time to Varanasi

we took a sunrise boat down the holy ganga

The steps down to the river are called Gahts

The holy fire and cremations have not stopped here for a millenea

big wheels keep on turning, proud mary keep on burning...oh marry...is that what they meant? (i dont know if the burning corpse was called mary or not aye)

and thogh the e-coli and human waste particles in the river are around 4000 times the allowed amount the locals hold the river spiritually pure and bath in it daily

we chilled out in Varanasi and even helped some local kids and bought them a cricket bat and ball so they could join in on the fun...

We met some lovely people in Varanasi and enjoyed a relaxing time. peoples opinion split on this place but we loved it and recommend it to anyone…

Off to Kolkota and Vietnam then!

The dictionary defines in limbo as:

still in Pushkar….this week Chrissy’s knee’s have been killing her and my poor wife had to be admitted to hospital. a tough time for us and draining mentally…physically she is getting allot better and we have every reason to hope she can make a full recovery and relatively fast….

then my bike broke down which was more funny than sad as me and a local boy pushed the bike 3km with no engine in the desert…and the medical insurance have been a hassle etc…

I really was ready to leave Pushkar already…anyway….

life (and travel) throws challenges our way and if anything I believe people have a chance to rise up to the challenge…

so this week I will carry Chrissy around and try and not go nuts here in Pushkar….

Pushkar with a dry lake...no rain - no lake....the small town has over 200 temples...full holy!

the meeting centre of pushkar is a small chai-shop where I lose to J'an regularly (beat him last night tho phwar!) all in preparation for meeting the Casparov of Chess my big brother....(im not sure I ever beat him...dick)

played 2 gigs so far here in Pushkar!

The 1st rain of the season hit in a very synchronistic fashion as I sang a song about the heavens...but in India you roll with everything or sink like a stone....we unplugged and moved undercover where some faithful few jammed with us for hours more....ps - check out American Dain on the right...he had a bang lassi and is trollied!

after the 2nd gig we went to check out this huge devotional gig...chrissy lasted 5 minutes

We also pumped into this wedding procession including band and young groom on white horse with lots of bills stuck to his lapel...class act

so life is eventful and we’ve been busy with festival stuff for the summer and helping out a friend…soon non-eventful chillout i’m sure…;-)

was very relaxed and lovely! nice gig as well, we learn something after every performance…this time we learned not to work with cun*s anymore, music is a vibe based gig and no vibe = no good…but that’s enough about that

we then headed north to Goa and to see our friends!

We saw Dave and Nia again in their lovely flat in Panjim….we went to the market and bought a Tuna fish and a kilo of Calamari for $2.20!!

then we headed to Mumbai and met with Approv who was kind enough to host us in his awesome penthouse and show us around town with his chauffeur…was lush! thank A.

when I asked Apoorv why he stops every day on his way to work to feed the birds he simply said - cause they are hungry...what a nice guy!

We then took a 16 hour sleeper bus in a little nook but we kept ourselves busy…

now we are in Rajastan after a very long journey and lookin around…

So we left Hampi in a sleeper to Gokarna in the southern state of Karnateka and this place is both beautiful and chilled. Its really great to be here and Chrissy has already started to do some Lu-lus and I scored a gig tonight! the Tour continues!

so we are here in the beautiful Hampi. Ancient empire across the river we are here relaxing…well I am. Chrissy is working full days doing Lu-Lu’s and other hair related ‘pretty stuff’. We are both delighted naturally.

On other fronts I cant really travel India without going a-bit spiritual and trying to practice a little self-help trying to be happier and shit…

India to me is still a-bit Hard, a-bit dirty, a-bit ignorant and the list goes on but also very beautiful. very affordable, very mercantile and flexible and full of wondrous and magical things….India really is full of paradox…
